ISO
9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015
The much awaited 2015 editions of both ISO 9001 QMS and ISO 14001 EMS were published by ISO on 15th September, 2015.
Speaking on the occation, ISO Secretary-General Kevin McKinley said “ISO 9001 allows organizations to adapt to a changing world. It enhances an organization’s ability to satisfy its customers and provides a coherent foundation for growth and sustained success” and
“ISO 14001 is something that organizations can use to distinguish themselves from their competition, and in many cases also providing financial advantage, helping organizations to realize efficiencies and improve performance.”
Since these standards have been revised to meet the needs of today’s business world, we recommend that you
update your quality and environment management system to fit the new version - ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. A three year transition period has been agreed for moving to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 for the already certified organisations.

ISO/IEC
27001:2013: The new addition of ISO 27001 (Information technology - Security techniques - Information security management systems - Requirements) was published on the 25 September 2013. The new standard puts more emphasis on measuring and evaluating how well an organisation's ISMS is performing, and there is a new section on outsourcing, which reflects the fact that many organisations rely on third parties to provide some aspects of IT. There are now 114 controls in 14 groups; the old standard had 133 controls in 11 groups. The two year transition period ends on 1st October, 2015. |
